Sustainable Development

The goal of LLP Kaz West Munai is to develop its business according to the best international standards, while maintaining a commitment to protecting the environment, guaranteeing safe and healthy working conditions and ensuring a positive contribution to the development of the regions where it operates.

Environmental Responsibility

The Company’s sustainable development strategy places a high priority on environmental responsibility. The Environmental Policy governs environmental protection (EP) and demonstrates the Company’s adherence to sustainable development concepts. The document outlines the primary responsibilities of the Company, which include complying with environmental regulations set forth by the Republic of Kazakhstan’s legislation, international environmental protection acts, ensuring the reduction of negative environmental impact (NEI), pursuing resource conservation policies, taking all reasonable steps to preserve biodiversity and the climate, making up for potential environmental damage, and fulfilling a number of other duties.

Natural gas contributes to the low-carbon development of the Kazakhstani economy and is crucial for accomplishing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement because of its favorable environmental effects. Reducing air pollution, producing and disposing of less waste from production and consumption, increasing energy efficiency, and protecting biodiversity and land are all priorities for the corporation.

Social Responsibility

Every year, LLP Kaz West Munai keeps an eye on the social climate to quickly address any employee social unrest. For the LLP Kaz West Munai, the private organization “Center for Social Interaction and Communications” studied the Samruk Research Services (SRS) social stability index in 2023. SRS declined as a result of declining Engagement (which declined in line with employee loyalty) and declining Social Well-Being (which declined in line with satisfaction with the social package and wage level, resulting from higher inflation in the Republic of Kazakhstan).

All received complaints are classified and systematized by nature – issues of complaints, counting of complaints and their monitoring data (number of complaints received, number of complaints considered and found justified, number of repeated complaints, number of complaints worked on and closed) in order to distinguish systematic (repeated) and single complaints, to assess trends of different categories of complaints.

Health and Safety

Health and safety of both employees and contractors are our top priorities at LLP Kaz West Munai, and we actively work to instill this culture throughout the whole company. Globally, QHSE protocols and training are strict and held to exacting standards. Activities at LLP Kaz West Munai have the potential to cause significant harm to numerous individuals. Two (2) instances of wasted time occurred in Kazakhstan in 2020 involving employees of LLP Kaz West Munai and one of the contractors. Every event was looked into, the causes were identified, and remedial action plans in accordance with our HSE policies were created. All Contract Owners, including C&P, received copies of the Contractor HSE Performance Process in 2022.
